As a business intelligence engineer you will have strong technical acumen and experience in developing reporting infrastructures and flexible front-end tools. You will conduct deep dive analyses of business growth opportunities and formulate conclusions for senior leadership. You will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for marketers and business leaders while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Often, the ideal set of data will not be available and you will have to think creatively about what is available in order to drive results. You will also be responsible for producing written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders that will help shape effective marketing and business strategies and tactics.

Key job responsibilities

  • Analyze relevant business information, and uncover trends and correlations to develop insights that can materially improve our business and marketing strategies and tactics.

  • Develop new and innovative analyses to inform our stakeholders business and marketing strategy.

  • Establish new, scalable, efficient, automated processes for tracking and reporting on progress of marketing campaigns and activity

  • Design, develop and establish KPIs to provide strategic insights to drive growth and measure performance marketing

  • Partner and with cross-functional teams to deliver business results

  • Manage, maintain, and improve the team's self-service reporting infrastructure, pipelines, and dashboards

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience with AWS technologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
