Amazon Business Development Manager, FinOps, Global Financial Audit (GFA) in Seattle, Washington

Description

Are you passionate about developing new partnerships to reduce process defects at scale? Have you led large cross-functional projects to increase efficiency and accuracy and reduce waste? If so, Finance Operations (FinOps) and the Global Financial Audit (GFA) team is the place for you.

The FinOps Global Financial Audit (GFA) team is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the growth and expansion of recovery audits to deliver financial savings throughout Amazon. Business development in GFA involves identifying, prioritizing and building out new opportunities for GFA’s internal and third-party teams to audit to ensure Amazon is not overpaying for goods and services.

The ability to partner with business owners, while obsessing over them as internal customers, is critical to growing the function in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a quick learner, and have the ability to effectively influence leadership across Amazon.

You will work cross-functionally with multiple business partners and stakeholders. You will have an ability to deliver through others to scale efforts worldwide. You will model out business expansion operational plans by utilizing your ability to dive deep into vendor and supplier spend, earning trust with stakeholders, and delivering results that identify defects and result in recovery of overpayments, savings or missed funding due to Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and drive business development goals in partnership with various stakeholders such as business owners, finance partners, and controllership teams.

• Identify new audit concepts in existing audit areas as businesses change, scaling through standardizing where possible, and/or tailoring to bespoke business needs as required.

• Lead business development reviews with audit teams and stakeholders, setting a high bar for delivering results against established goals.

• Analyze audit findings and influence stakeholders to address root cause and reduce defects.

• Leverage technology (new or existing) to scale root cause reduction, strengthen guardrails or improve operational efficiencies.

About the team

Global Financial Audit (GFA) is a Finance function operating through both internal and external teams with the objective to recover missed or underbilled funding, overpayments and savings due to Amazon from current and prior periods. GFA works proactively with upstream technology and process owning teams to identify and reduce defects based on root cause reporting owned by GFA.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

  • Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment, influencing strategy, and achieving goals by working across the organization

  • Experience in Excel with advanced proficiency (pivots, lookups, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • 3+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience

  • Experience in accounts receivable or account payable

  • Experience managing a team of individuals contributors that span multiple or complex products or programs within your organization

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
