Amazon Business Analyst , Selling Partner Support Engagement in Seattle, Washington

Description

Do you enjoy solving complex business problems, transforming data into insights, and using data to drive product decisions? In this position, you will directly support the creation of a global product that evolves the support experience for our Selling Partners.

Data driven approach is at the core Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team. You will work closely with product managers, SDEs, data engineers, applied scientists, operations teams, and senior management to define new metrics and project requirements and provide inputs towards defining solutions to business problems.

You will learn and understand our global operations, database infrastructure, and existing system functionalities. After establishing this knowledge, you will need to develop a robust set of metrics and reporting solutions to help uncover opportunities, prioritize fixes, and influence leadership to help drive investments that reduce waste. Some of these metrics do not exist, requiring critical thought and data/metrics design. This will include complex analytics, mapping systems and datasets together, developing scalable reporting solutions, and producing narratives/documents outlining key insights and trends meant to drive investment as well as measuring the efficacy of solutions implemented over time to attribute success and impact. You'll build sustainable, scalable and automated analytics that help the organization understand opportunities for efficiency and performance improvements. With stakeholders across multiple teams, there will be frequent opportunities to influence significant decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deep dive into large data sets to answer key business questions using SQL, Excel, and other data manipulation languages

  • Systematically identify data sources, perform analysis and build data pipelines to influence product roadmaps based on business problems.

  • Operate with significant autonomy to deliver results and achieve the goals and objectives of both your team and the broader organization.

  • Communicate complex insights to stakeholders, both verbally, in writing and through visualization and dashboards

  • Perform complex data research identifying opportunities to improve the effectiveness of our support mechanisms and provide analytical recommendations to business teams.

A day in the life

You will work closely with product, program, and tech teams in order to stay connected to the ongoing feature launch roadmaps. The Selling Partners Support ecosystem is constantly evolving and our analytics systems must be maintained and adapted to ensure our measurement strategy and reporting mechanisms accommodate these changes. You will build a variety of analytics and visualization solutions to support our product features. You will autonomously perform deep dives, uncovering new trends/areas that may need attention. You will also work closely with our product team to help design experiments and look for new opportunities.

About the team

We are product, science, and software team that builds ML/AI augmented services which identify when a Selling Partner is experiencing an unusual problem. To identify these concerning issues amongst the millions of normal weekly interactions we have with Selling Partners, we have strived to develop an inclusive, diverse, and highly collaborative cross functional team of tech and business personnel. We work as a squad, with the business analyst playing a crucial role, working large data sets to tie anecdotes to the analytical insights which shape our solutions, while creating the metrics that measure our success.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • Experience with Excel

  • MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
