Location:WA-Seattle Job Title: Broadcast Director - KIRO TV Position Overview KIRO TV is looking for a Broadcast Director who will also produce content for KIRO newscasts and all digital platforms. Applicants must be comfortable directing in a fast paced, live television environment and be able to oversee all technical aspects of a live broadcast, across all broadcast platforms. The applicant must be able to adapt quickly to changes and communicate clearly with staff and news management. The individual also must be willing and able to learn how to contribute content to KIRO digital platforms. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct live news broadcasts through the use of Grass Valley's Ignite Automation System Maintain the upkeep of production studio Oversee and direct content for all digital platforms Transfer elements into Airspeed servers for playback Recognize and be able to troubleshoot problems with Ignite Automation: Grass Valley K-Frame Switcher Vinten Robotics Avid iNEWS Chyron Hego Graphics Studio Mics and Lighting Maintain a positive, cooperative and professional attitude at all times Minimum Qualifications Live directing and/or switching experience and knowledge of switcher concepts Ability to sit and direct for long time periods, often hours at a time. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 2-year television news experience preferred Knowledge of the Grass Valley Ignite automation system or similar system preferred Knowledge of Avid iNews and automation integration preferred The wage scale for this position is $31.25 per hour to $36.50 per hour.
