Blue Origin LLC Avionics Control Design Automation Engineer III - New Glenn in Seattle, Washington

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will lead the development of the architectures and approaches for automating the design, test, verification, and validation of our launch vehicle control applications. This a hands-on development role, and you'll be building these tools and deploying them to eliminate our design, analysis, and verification bottlenecks to improve our engineering efficiency. Working closely with our design teams these initiatives will improve the team's throughput and maintain the high quality of our control applications. To innovate process improvements in our model-based design framework, you may also be assigned responsibility for some autonomous control applications and provide support to test teams to assist in gaining insight and knowledge into how our development framework should evolve. In this role you will report directly to the Director of our Autonomy Architecture team. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical discipline Advanced Simulink development skills 5+ years industry experience in Avionics operations, launch systems, aerospace, or satellite operations Hands-on experience in developing, authoring, and executing integrated tests or operating launch vehicles Proven experience with Avionics analysis and operations Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Preferred Qualifications: MS Degree in Engineering or related subject area 7+ years experience in avionics operations, launch systems, aerospace, or satellite operations Engineering leadership and mentorship experience Project management experience Experience developing rockets, missiles, or other sophisticated aerospace, automotive, or marine vehicle systems Experience with operations and testing of aerospace or similar vehicles Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $136,800.00-$191,520.00 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
