You will identify key issues, partner with cross-functional teams to conduct analyses, develop and communicate management level recommendations, and implement aligned programs and initiatives. You will leverage data to drive decision making in support of enterprise business planning. As an associate strategy manager on the Store Operations Strategic Initiatives team, you will…

Business Acumen

  • Understand retail P&L levers and contributes to business case creation (size of prize, margin impact, total profit contribution) for projects and programs

  • Indentify tensions and trade-offs between opportunities and risks, revenue and margin, customer and partner, etc.; provides recommendations based on cost-benefit analyses

Insight to Strategy

  • Understand role & needs of end-users and synthesizes qualitative and quantitative data to uncover opportunities

  • Distill and prioritize research learnings to generate strategic direction that can translate to executable tactics

  • Utilize storyboarding practices to frame narratives and articulate key takeaways

Project Planning & Execution

  • Build project charters and briefs with clearly defined problem statements, goals linked to KPIs, scope, and milestone timelines with dependencies

  • Lead complex projects from idea to implementation by setting vision and engaging cross-functional and intra-organizational teams to achieve shared goals

  • Leverage frameworks and Human-Centered Design methods to brainstorm, prototype, and drive towards creative solutions

  • Communicate progress and manage expectations with key stakeholders at all levels; knows when to escalate roadblocks

Innovation leadership

  • Shape and support recommendations for innovation and risk-taking

· Inspire peers and gains organizational momentum behind great ideas, bringing them to fruition via cross functional influence

· Comfortable persevering through complex and often ambiguous implementation paths

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Data analysis and modeling capabilities

  • Project management experience

  • Experience creating & delivering management-level presentations

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, and create strategy in new spaces

  • Experience understanding, managing, and cultivating their stakeholder communities

  • Experience in retail operations, store development and/or strategic consulting

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree

  • MBA or equivalent experiences preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite

  • Knowledge and capabilities with data organization and visualization tools (Smartsheet, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) preferred

  • 5 years general business experience in large, multi-disciplinary organizations

  • 3 years Project management skills for large and complex problems

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
