Job Title: Accounting and Payroll SpecialistJob Description

Responsible for the preparation and disbursement of the monthly and semi-monthly payroll in a multi-state environment. Also responsible for assisting in month-end and year-end close and other financial accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and disburse monthly and semi-monthly payroll in a multi-state environment.

  • Review and approve timesheets.

  • Compile payroll data and run payroll processes.

  • Submit payroll tax payments.

  • Conduct compensation analysis.

  • Handle insurance benefits, tax applications, audits, and deductions.

  • Perform month-end and year-end close tasks.

  • Assist with general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and financial statement analysis.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably with multi-state operational experience.

  • Experience in the A/E/C industry or other project-based work.

  • Proficiency in payroll processing, payroll tax, timesheets, and benefits administration.

  • Experience with ADP Payroll, Paylocity, or other third-party payroll services.

  • Knowledge of payroll software and general ledger systems.

  • Excel proficiency.

  • Experience with Deltek software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to be self-directed and manage time effectively.

  • Strong data entry and analytical skills.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional open office environment with low to moderate noise levels including collaborative work areas for team meetings. Each office provides collaborative work areas and shared resources such as video conferencing, printing/scanning, and a café for dining. The work schedule includes on-site work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with remote work on Monday and Friday. Training and onboarding may be quick and limited, so the candidate must be self-reliant and experienced to complete tasks efficiently. The role involves working with payroll for 200 employees, including 35 hourly semi-monthly and 165 salaried employees.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.77 - $40.86
