Reference #: 4527532 THE POSITION The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is looking for an independent, responsible candidate to fill our Clerical Assistant 2 position at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center located in Scranton, PA.  Candidate must have a strong attention to detail and be able to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position will provide administrative and clerical support to the Revenue Department at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center and is responsible for all Medicare and Medicaid billing along with processing payments from residents, family, and third parties.  Some of the duties of this position include the following:

Receives, processes, and posts cash and check payments from residents, family, and third parties for maintenance fees, Medicare B, PACE, Medicaid, Medicare D, etc. Completes deposit slips for cash and check payments. Verifies that they reconcile with amount received and reports run. Complete bank deposits in a timely manner. Data management and entry skills, the ability to improve and maintain physical and digital filing systems to include confidential protected health information. Computer literacy, including data entry, spreadsheet creation and formulas, word processing, presentation creation, graphing, and shared database and calendar functions. Creates, edits, and corrects errors in Medicaid billing.Interested in learning more?  Additional details regarding this position can be found in theposition description.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary:  Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621 (before taxes). Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment may require satisfactory completion of a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
