Responsibilities

The Khosravi Immunoengineering Lab in the Department of Immunology at the Mayo Clinic Arizona is seeking two Postdoc Research Fellows. The Khosravi Lab research focuses on developing and applying novel ways of inducing immune tolerance using integrated approaches that combine laboratory, clinical, and computational methods (https://www.mayo.edu/research/faculty/khosravi-maharlooei-mohsen-m-d/bio-20546006).

The focuses of current research projects:

  1. Analyzing the signaling and metabolic defects of Tregs in human autoimmune diseases and applying genetic engineering approaches to correct the defects for autologous Treg therapies.

  2. Engineering of human hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) for induction of immune tolerance through autologous HSC transplantation.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

  • Proof of doctoral degree (copy of diploma or final transcript with English translation, if applicable) or a letter from your university's Registrar office indicating you have fulfilled all doctoral program requirements and are eligible to graduate.

  • Please also be prepared that you may be asked to provide three letters of recommendation to the hiring PI prior to an interview.

Qualifications

Required qualifications: Doctoral degree (MD, PhD, or other equivalent degrees) with a general knowledge of immunology. Knowledge and experience of working with animal models, working with immune cells in both in vitro and in vivo assays, basic understanding of high throughput data analysis and familiarity with relevant software such as R.
