Job Description

General Purpose:

Adds vegetables to batches.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adds the necessary ingredients to batches according to the appropriate batch sheet.

  • Pumps tomatoes into tomato tank and buffers them to proper pH during queso runs.

  • Inspects quality of vegetables used in batches for any noticeable defects and informs management.

  • Mixes seasonings and starches in Liquefier during white dip runs.

  • Rehydrates onions during white dip runs.

  • Records all required information for traceability purposes, i.e. batch sheets, logs, etc.

  • Dumps paste and diced tomatoes during salsa runs.

  • Utilizes ingredients on a first in/first out basis.

  • Attaches the correct flow lines for product movement.

  • CIPs all equipment used for downstairs vegetable at end of runs.

  • Connect all downstairs equipment for the next product run.

  • Assist the cheese liquefier and cook with their assigned duties during smooth and cheesy runs.

  • Communicates with fellow processing members.

  • Performs quality tests on ingredients when necessary and reports any concerns to management.

  • Keeps floor area clean and free of debris.

  • Handles cleaning chemicals in a safe manner utilizing safety equipment such as gloves, eyewear, etc.

  • Utilize scanners or thin client units to make SAP transaction for the purpose of maintain accurate inventory levels and ensuring reliable product traceability.

  • Reports maintenance issues as they occur and submits work orders when necessary.

  • Maintain sanitary equipment conditions during production.

  • Completes all necessary paperwork accurately and legibly.

  • Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements.

  • Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.

  • Maintain safe environment and perform other duties in a safe manner at all times.

  • Assists in training new operator.

  • Ability to function in a team based structure and positively contributes to team based efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Shift Schedule - Monday - Friday 830PM-430AM - SCHEDULE BASED ON DEMAND

  • SOME SATURDAYS POSSIBLE DUE TO PRODUCT DEMAND

  • $18.50 STARTING RATE + .50/HOUR SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL - START TIME OF 2PM OR LATER

  • $22.97 RATE AFTER 90 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT + .50/HOUR SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL - START TIME OF 2PM OR LATER

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

  • Able to effectively communicate in writing & speech (English)

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

  • Must be able to attain a Forklift Operator License within 30 days of hiring.
