Position Definition: TheBehavioral Health Technician ABAwill provide one-to-one behavioral interventions with clients and serve as a model for appropriate and pro-social behaviors. Relationship: TheBehavioral Health Technician ABAshall be directly responsible to the Supervisor of Mental Health Services. Qualifications: Education/Experience:
High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 40 hours of training in content covered by Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) training, as verified by a BCBA.
Completion of all ongoing training, policy review, and supervisory requirements.
Skills/Knowledge:
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work positively in a strength-based intervention model.
Ability to adhere to mandated timelines and providing services to clients and families.
Due to itinerant nature of position, must have a valid driver’s license.
Physical:
Ability to drive.
Ability to physically restrain student in accordance with CLIU protocols.
Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes.
Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.
Good manual dexterity.
Authority:TheBehavioral Health Technician ABAwill have the authority to perform all functions listed below in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists client with daily living skills.
Implements behavior management programs and interventions.
Empowers the parents/guardians in their roles as primary caretakers.
Serves as a positive role model.
Completes appropriate paperwork and documentation, as required.
Works with team members in the department, enforcement, and evaluation of treatment plans.
Secondary:
Travels to and from clients’ homes is required to perform duties.
Works with other staff supporting their work with clients.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor of Behavioral Health Services.
