We have an immediate need for a Quality Process Engineer in our Schenectady, NY Cores and Castings division. In this role you will perform product quality reviews associated with the manufacturing process of investment castings. Be responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. This role functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Pay Transparency:

The base pay range for this position is $87,300.00 - 116,400.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. Expected close date from career site is once a contender is identified.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

The Quality Process Engineer will functionally own all aspects of Quality including but not limited to:

  • Development of Quality planning for each Product.

  • Perform Operator proficiency audits for assigned Cell.

  • Quality defect documentation and issue resolution.

  • Track and trend Quality defects, and lead projects to reduce or eliminate.

  • Final Quality documentation package completeness for product shipments.

  • Maintain both Quality Assurance and Quality Control of products.

  • Manufacturing processes and sourced components within the Cell.

  • Maintain all process documentation and Methods.. .

  • Be accountable for all Cell Quality KPI’s (Severe Events, Escapes, and CoPQ), and develop strategies for improvement.

  • Provide the Quality updates at all Cell QMR’s and reviews.

  • Proficient use of Quality systems (Power Now, Fiori, eSMS, WebCRT, Documentum, Confluence).

  • Participate in Root Cause investigations and develop Corrective and Preventative Actions for identified Quality issues (RCA’s, and PSR’s).

  • Perform Internal Audits, and document and resolve Audit findings.

  • Represent Cell during ISO 9001 and AS 9100 Audits.

  • Act as the liaison between the Factory and Sourcing, Engineering, and Customer representatives to quickly resolve Quality issues

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college with 2 years of experience in manufacturing leadership

  • Or a 2 year Technical Degree with minimum 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership or quality role

  • Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or quality role

  • Or 6 years of military experience in a technical or relatable role

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future

  • This position is 100% onsite at the GE factory in Schenectady, NY

Desired Characteristics

  • 1st Shift position but ability / flexibility to work varied hours as needed to support 3-shift operation.

  • Previous experience with investment casting and ceramic cores

The base pay range for this position is $90.4K - $120.5K. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 11/4/2024, or thereafter.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
