GE Vernova Operations Leader - Production Supervisor-2nd Shift in Schenectady, New York

Job Description Summary

The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor will perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line.

This position requires an understanding of concepts, methods and procedures. Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops.

Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking.

Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations.

  • Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent.

  • Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities, planning of activities and giving explanations on technical issues.

  • Communicates with direct team and supervisor.

  • Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research.

  • Ability to work in other operations to cover as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role (manufacturing or similar industry preferred) OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, 2 of which are/were in a supervisory role OR Military Training.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to work the Off-Shift- 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm).

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

  • This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.

Desired Characteristics

  • Engineering or management degree.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.

  • Manufacturing experience relevant to heavy duty equipment.

  • Experience running projects in a machine shop environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Established project management skills.

The base pay range for this position is $74 ,800- $93,500 . The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 5 % performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity and a 10% shift differential. ​

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
