Guthrie Sr. Dir, Respiratory Svc Line - Respiratory Therapy - Full Time in Sayre, Pennsylvania

Summary

The Senior Director for System Respiratory Care and Sleep Medicine is a strategic leadership position accountable for overseeing the operational and clinical aspects of respiratory care and sleep medicine services across The Guthrie Clinic. Reporting to the SVP, President of PA Regional Hospitals and matrixed to the EVP, COO of The Guthrie Clinic, this role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans, virtual respiratory program, innovative care models for respiratory care and sleep medicine, ensuring high-quality patient care, managing resources effectively, and fostering collaboration across departments and system-wide initiatives. This role collaborates closely with the executive leadership of The Guthrie Clinic, through matrixed reporting, to ensure alignment of respiratory care and sleep medicine services with system-wide objectives and standards. The Senior Director will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of excellence and innovation in respiratory care and sleep medicine.

Experience

•Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in respiratory care, sleep medicine, or related clinical services.

•Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential or equivalent licensure/certification required.

•Strong understanding of healthcare finance, reimbursement models, and regulatory requirements.

•Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

•Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate interdisciplinary teams in a complex healthcare environment.

•Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives with timely execution.

Education

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Essential Functions

Develop and implement strategic plans for the respiratory care service line and sleep medicine in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of The Guthrie Clinic.

Lead initiatives to enhance patient care, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction in respiratory care and sleep medicine services.

Provide operational oversight across the system for all aspects of respiratory care and sleep medicine services, including staffing, resource allocation, budget management, and regulatory compliance.

Will direct respiratory care and sleep medicine services for the PA Regional Hospitals in addition to system oversight. At Robert Packer Hospital will include Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Function Laboratory, Neurodiagnostics (EEG and EMG) and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Departments.

Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of services, implementing improvements as necessary.

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care in respiratory therapy and sleep medicine, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.

Collaborate with medical staff, clinicians, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance clinical protocols, standards of care, and treatment modalities.

Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, and support staff.

Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and accountability, promoting staff engagement and professional growth opportunities.

Serve as a liaison and subject matter expert for respiratory care and sleep medicine services between all Guthrie entities across The Guthrie Clinic, fostering effective communication and collaboration across departments and service lines.

Participate in system-level meetings, committees, and initiatives to represent the interests of respiratory care and sleep medicine services.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in respiratory care and sleep medicine.

Implement quality assurance programs, conduct regular audits, and address any deficiencies or areas for improvement.

Develop and manage the budget for respiratory care and sleep medicine services, optimizing resource utilization and revenue generation.

Identify opportunities for cost containment, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency.

Performs special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and requested.
