VCA Animal Hospitals Certified Veterinary Technician in Savoy, Illinois

VCA Heritage Animal Hospital , in Savoy, Illinois , has opportunities available for you to join our incredible team! We are seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our hospital!

Compensation: Pay Range is $18 - 22.50 / hr. Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.

Schedule:    Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling, 4 x 10 hours.

VCA Heritage Animal Hospital has been providing the highest quality veterinary care for pets in the Champaign-Urban area for over 45 years.

We are a full-service facility offering urgent care, hospitalization, preventative/routine medical care.  Our clinic is well equipped with digital radiographs (including dental radiographs), ultrasound, dental suite, oversized surgical suite, isolation room, spacious exam rooms and waiting rooms dedicated to cats and dogs.

Snapshot of the Role:

Whether you are a seasoned Veterinary Technician or recent graduate, we want you to use the knowledge in which you’ve invested your time and talent. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.

  • Venipuncture and IVC placement

  • Administer SQ fluids, medications, and other treatments

  • Complete estimates and basic record keeping.

  • Surgical preparation and assisting.

  • Anesthesia monitoring.

  • Dentistry.

  • Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team. This includes discharging patients when they are ready to return home.

  • Perform radiology with and without sedation.

  • Laboratory diagnostics.

  • Patient recovery
