IHG Maintenance Representative-IHG Army Hotels Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia

Role Purpose

Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience – as Maintenance Representative you’ll keep everything looking sharp and running like clockwork. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day. With naturally high standards to support our own, you’ll approach every task with devotion and pride.

This property is located on a US Military Installation. Successful completion of a Federal Background check will be required to access the installation in order to attend an interview for this position, and will be required to be renewed annually at minimum. DOD, Military Retiree, Spouse or Dependent card holders will be able to use their ID cards in-lieu of these procedures.

Key Accountabilities

  • Complete basic maintenance related tasks and deep cleaning to keep guest rooms and public areas in an excellent state of cleanliness and repair.

  • Assist with completion of the preventative maintenance checklist and complete minor repairs work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, unclogging toilets replacing faucet washers, etc.

  • Carry tools, prepare the worksite and assist maintenance representatives as needed

  • Clean and sweep the parking lot and sidewalk areas.

  • Cut, prune and water the lawn and plants as necessary and dispose of the trimmings.

  • Empty all trashcans on a daily basis

  • Report all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.

  • Adhere to all established safety policies and procedures.

  • Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory such as tools, supplies, equipment, etc., replenish supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimize waste.

  • Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

  • Be a friendly face and helping hand to our guests

  • Keep your supervisor or duty manager in the loop and tell them about any low running supplies

  • Look smart and approachable in your uniform

  • Be ready to take on extra duties as and when the team needs you

Key Skills & Experiences

  • Experience – you’ll have at least one year of maintenance or repair work under your belt.

  • A high school diploma or related vocational training.

  • On top of building equipment and hand tools, you’ll have a working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventative maintenance procedures.

  • Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot.

  • Due to the building being an exterior property, this position will spend a large portion of the day outside, in varying degrees of weather.

  • Maintenance of pet rooms where dogs and/or cats have been/are present

  • Compliance – as well as meeting local laws you’ll fluent in the local language.

  • Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.

  • Will be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

This position also requires you to be authorized to work in the United States, have a valid Georgia driver's license with clean motor vehicle report, and the ability to pass an NCIC III Federal background check in order to gain access to the military installation.
