Engineer II-$2,500 Employee Referral Bonus Eligiblein GAC SavannahUnique Skills:Strong data analysis skills with MATLAB or similar analysis tools highly desired.Strong technical document authoring and presentation skills highly desired.Aviation experience (pilot license, aircraft design & build, UAV operations...) desired.The Applicant is expected to safely perform the on-ground and in-flight duties of a Flight Test Engineer (FTE) in support of 14 CFR Part 25 Airplane Certification and future product development. This position is within the Aerodynamics and Performance Flight Test subgroup. Typical responsibilities include reviewing system and regulatory requirements, authoring test plans to include test specifications, defining test success criteria, and analysis methods. Additionally, this position also involves executing desktop simulations, high fidelity laboratory testing, and on-airplane ground/in-flight tests to gather data and assess airplane flying and handling qualities. These data are required to improve safety, refine existing systems, inform future designs, or demonstrate compliance with internal Company requirements and Federal Regulations. Simulation and test results are to be captured in highly technical reports and often submitted to the FAA and other International Regulatory agencies. Some regional and international travel and short-term deployments to support airplane testing is expected. The Applicant is expected to function well with a blended team of engineers, management, and airplane support staff with varying experience levels and diverse backgrounds but also, complete scheduled tasks independently.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's Degree Engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. 18 months related Engineering experience. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years for Master's and 4 years for PhD in field applicable to the job position. Position Purpose:Performs engineering work related to the investigation and the solution of technical problems associated with research, design, development, service and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: 1. Solves typical engineering problems within assigned discipline 2. Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes to completion of project milestones 3. Responsible for a complex engineering assignment, or a full project of lesser complexity 4. Follows established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments 5. Obtains appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy 6. Proficiently applies company/organization policies and procedures Additional Functions: 1. Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements 2.
