Job Overview:
The Quality Assurance Technician II is primarily responsible for performing routine line inspections and laboratory testing. The QA Tech II must work effectively with the Quality Assurance and Production teams to consistently produce and supply products that exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to guidelines set out by methods, SOP’s, the Quality Management System, and general lab practice policies.
Observe safe work practices using proper safety precautions and procedures.
Collects and test samples in the laboratory using good laboratory practice using wet chemistry techniques.
Understands plant labeling requirements and sees that all chemicals are properly labeled.

Performs quality control testing and sees that Quality Control objectives are met.
Works with departmental managers to maximize product reliability, line production and to minimize costs.
Maintains laboratory calibration logbooks and recalibrate equipment as needed.
Audit line components to ensure proper usage of materials in production.
Maintains sample retains as part of the sample retention program.
Recommends measures to improve quality assurance and safety programs.
Place material on quality hold per SOP or when requested by Department Lead or Manager
Assist in sampling and compatibility testing of chemicals to identify chemicals that have not been labeled following established protocols.
Assist the lab manager in setting up records for new products from customer specifications after QC validation protocols have been established.
Assist the lab manager with R&D tableting projects.
Maintain good housekeeping of the lab and retain storage area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Prefer an individual who has had college level courses in General Chemistry and Laboratory Chemistry and who has prior quality control experience
1-3 years prior experience in manufacturing environment
Proficient with basic math and use of measurements
Must be able to analyze data, report data orally and in writing, reach conclusions and formulate solutions to problems
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The employee is frequently required to stand, lift, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl and walk
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb stairs and ladders to work at heights over 15’
Employee must be able to wear a respirator and/or other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary to reduce exposure
Employee may be exposed to various chemicals
Employee must be able to work in heat and cold
Pay: $ 23.11 - 26.00 / hourly
