DeZurik Inc. Technical Sales Specialist in Sartell, Minnesota

GENERAL SUMMARY The primary responsibilities of the Technical Sales Specialist are to sell products and provide primary inside contact for a group of independent sales representatives and customers assigned by geographic regions or products. Additionally, this role will provide project coordination and document control for orders they process. This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK's hybrid work schedule. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Respond to Request for Quotes, build quotes, and send pricing to customers in a timely manner. Track and follow up on quotations and projects to secure orders. Provide customers, Sales Representatives and distributors with technical information. Solve mildly complex technical and business objections of prospective customers. Build and maintain customer relationships. Process inbound sales calls and promote sales by focusing on salable features and adjacent products. Coordinate and manage quote and sales order activity between Sales, Engineering, Production, Traffic, and Accounting departments. Coordinate, manage, and communicate quote and order status, updates and expedites with representatives, consulting engineers, contractors and distributors. Review specifications and Terms and Conditions of Sale at proposal stage. Estimate date of delivery. Assure that the specifications and Terms and Conditions of a sale are priced correctly, are included in the quotations and are included in the Order Write-up and are part of the Bill of Material. Process orders by entering into ERP system, including assigning part numbers, checking pricing, commissions, etc. Other duties may be assigned. Correspond with traffic department and customer on scheduled ship dates and expedite requests. Conduct proactive job identification of potential projects when instructed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree in an engineering discipline with 2 years of experience or 2-year degree and 2+ years of experience. Demonstrated self-motivation, commitment to task, problem solving, and customer orientation required. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail - commercial & technical. Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with multiple departments. Time management, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office program and experience with ERP Systems. Technical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing processes. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone. Must be able to support after hours business needs as they arise. Travel for the company including both domestic and international travel may be required for project/systems support. WORKING CONDITIONS Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Stress may result from workload and meeting schedules. Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.
