About the job: Embark on a new career journey to shape the future as an Espey Production Planner, where you will be part of a team crafting transformers & power supplies destined for military and industrial products. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Planner will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring that production meets customer demand and company targets. The Production Planner performs a wide variety of functions such as planning the production schedule given available capacity, managing raw material inventory levels, fulfilling customer order requirements, and optimizing order sequence. Unlock your operational skills and production finesse by orchestrating the creation of products that protect today’s military.Production Planner Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:· Develop and maintain production schedules for multiple products & priorities to meet customer requirements and maximize efficiency· Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production and minimize excess stock and work closely with procurement to coordinate deliveries of raw materials and components· Optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime by effectively planning production shifts and schedules determining the manpower, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover demand & address customer or engineering changes· Liaise with production team leaders, supervisors, and managers to communicate production goals and resolve issues, align production work orders, communicate priorities, plans, and changes to internal team members· Track & analyze key performance indicators and production data (e.g., cycle times, yield rates) to monitor performance, identify trends or deviations, take corrective actions, and document processes and work instructions.· Prepare regular reports on production activities, including progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement· Quote jobs for new builds and repeat orders· Use ERP software to convert customer orders to jobs within the Master Production Schedule to create orders in the plant MRP system· Produce and distribute job traveler packages to production areas; and update travelers based on input.· Determine if subassemblies should be made in house or purchased outside for cost saving and alleviation of workload from departments on current running and new production jobs.· Lead supervisory team and coach on solid leadership practices and efficient, safe, and effective operations· Lead daily production meetings with department managers to resolve operations issues and ensure efficient flow of production through facility· Negotiate details & schedules with internal stakeholders to align production activities with program milestones and requirements· Ensure assigned programs comply with a complex matrix of regulations and standards, including those related to export controls, ITAR, DFARS, and cybersecurity to ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and mitigate any risks of non-complianceRequired Qualifications:· Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Economics, Engineering or related field· Minimum 5 years’ experience in production planning or operations manufacturing in a military or industrial industry· Essential Functions include: frequently required to sit, talk, & hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift up to 10 pounds.Preferred Qualifications:· Possess a strong understanding of operations management, production planning, customer contracts, supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing principles· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, drawings and prints, and governmental regulations.· Knowledge of electrical & mechanical engineering practices, theory, & application· Experience in working in manufacturing or production environments· Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.· Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with coworkers and supervisors.· Experience with magnetics, transformers, inductors, or MILSPEC products for airborne, ground mobile, or Naval applications· Familiarity with EPICOR and CRM software, as well as Microsoft Suite of Products.· Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and experience with military standards such as MIL-E-917· Comfortable navigating complexity and troubleshooting unique problems; requires attention to detail, critical thinking, innovation, determination & resilience, and cross-functional partnerships· Competencies include project management, team leadership, independence balanced with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, bias for action, creativity, engineering prowess, & strong written and verbal communication skillsPerks at Espey:· Pay Range $65,000 - $80,000 depending on depth of skills and experience· Four - day work week· Onsite required (Relocation provided)· 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)· Medical, Dental, Vision, & Life insurance with Employee assistance program· Flexible spending account & Health savings account· Tuition reimbursementAn Equal Opportunity Employer.
