Overview:The Regional Field Trainer is responsible for supporting Boar’s Head purveyors to successfully maximize sales, promote and protect the brand, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. The primary responsibilities of the position are to help purveyors select, train, develop and coach their training and selling events teams to ensure that sales and service standards are consistently high and consistently executed across all consumer interactions.

The Regional Field Trainer ensures that purveyors, their teams and retail customers understand and execute the Boar’s Head customer experience initiatives.

Job Description:Essential Functions

  • Identify performance improvement opportunities and gaps at the consumer-facing level by evaluating capabilities of purveyors’ training and selling events teams, and of deli counter associates. The evaluation includes assessments and observations to determine the degree to which purveyors and their trainers effectively and consistently execute the company’s training and customer experience standards.

  • Partner with home office departments and retail relations teams to ensure that training programs are effectively sold-in to retailers. Align Boar’s Head training with retail partners’ programs to ensure company objectives are achieved while recognizing the needs of retailers.

  • Responsible for ensuring Learning Management System meets the needs of local purveyors and sales teams through system administration, content development and availability, and reporting.

  • Continually coaches and develops purveyors and their training and selling events teams to ensure consistent and impeccable execution of current customer experience initiatives. Assists and guides trainers to effectively conduct training sessions by co-conducting training sessions of deli associates and managers.

  • Assist purveyors in selecting trainers and selling events personnel.

  • Manage an integrated training schedule to provide the right training, at the right location, at the right time based on current results, purveyor hiring, and retail customer needs.

  • Leverages Boar’s Head Customer Experience training tools to consistently deliver results.

  • Train purveyors, their trainers and selling events teams using blended methodologies including classroom, in-person, behind the counter, LMS content, and webinars.

  • Acts as an enthusiastic ambassador of the Boar’s Head brand.

  • Partners with Zone Managers and Purveyors to plan training schedules, ensuring the best possible outcomes with minimal business interruption.

  • Supports new store openings and partners with appropriate business partners to ensure successful openings.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert on Boar’s Head’s products, processes, standards and training programs.

  • Responsible for training completion, certifications and service metrics, and tracks and reports effectiveness of all training activities using defined metrics on a regular basis.

  • Recommend enhancements to training content, execution methods and priorities based on direct observations in the field.

  • Keep Customer Experience Department apprised of concerns, issues and opportunities observed while in the field.

  • In consultation with local purveyors and Zone Management teams, the Lead Regional Field Trainer and the Customer Experience Director, this position prioritizes and targets training initiatives.

  • Create training class schedule, develop lesson plans, and track participant attendance.

  • Partner with Purveyor Trainers to synergistically provide the best possible level of support to purveyors.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Strong willingness and ability to learn and gain subject-matter expertise

  • Strong ability to multitask, follow up and manage competing priorities independently

  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time to all locations

  • 10+ years of multi-unit retail management experience

  • Knowledge of grocery, deli and distribution operations.

  • Excellent classroom and one-on-one coaching skills.

  • Budgeting skills

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Requires 7+ years of experience in the training field

  • Strong facilitation and delivery skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team goals

  • Experience administering Learning Management Systems

  • Experience writing training content
