The Sarasota County Government Procurement department is looking for an engaging and upbeat candidate with strong contract drafting skills to join our Contracts Administration Team (CAT).
In this role, you'll contribute to the development and administration of contracts on behalf of the County while being a part of a small and highly skilled team responsible for all aspects of contract administration.

In this position you will be working with your team members, County departments and the Office of the County Attorney to draft, negotiate, and review documents; ensure compliance with procedures; develop and maintain best practices; maintain a contract database, and provide training to internal department stakeholders who are responsible for managing the day-to-day performance of vendors under contract.
You will also be responsible for facilitating the negotiation process during the contract negotiation/finalization; preparing and collecting contract supporting documents; helping to administer the contract from award through expiration; providing customer service at multiple levels for both internal and external customers; and performing other necessary tasks as required.
This Procurement Professional II position performs work under the supervision of a Procurement Professional III.

Ability to read, analyze, understand, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and laws.
Robust contract drafting skills and experience using both standard and non-standard forms.
Ability and desire to serve as an effective and positive team member.

Ability to provide timely and attentive service to other County departments as well as contractors and vendors.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and a sense of humor in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

E-Work/Remote Work: Currently our Procurement team is eligible to e-work up to 2 days per week! After you complete your first six months and contingent on work requirements and other factors, you’ll be eligible for this fantastic benefit.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in liberal arts, fields relating to law, English or writing, or related field AND two (2) years of experience in public and/or private sector procurement or a related field
- OR - Associate's Degree in a related field AND four (4) years of experience in public or private sector procurement or a related field
- OR - Progressively responsible professional experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years of related experience with procurement, contracts, education, law, writing, project management, or a related field.
CPPB or NIGP-CPP or the ability to obtain CPPB or NIGP-CPP within three (3) years.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $55,577.60 - $62,000.00/year, based on your experience
Full Position Salary Range : $55,577.60 - $94,473.60/year
