Our Sarasota, FL location is looking for an experienced and talented Plastics Process Engineer to join our team. This individual will participate in R&D, Operations, and Engineering initiatives. Will be directly responsible for supporting all current plastics manufacturing processes along with leading new plastics implementations. This position will be working closely with all aspects of the business as cross functional support.

What Will You Do - Responsibilities for Employment

  • Technical Subject Matter Expert in assigned value streams.

  • Support operations in safely achieving production quality, delivery and cost targets.

  • Using data identify and implement improvements in the existing process/equipment/tooling in assigned area.

  • Identify and implement cost reductions for the site Value Creation Program.

  • Support new equipment / process implementation and transfer of equipment/processes.

  • Lead equipment maintenance efforts including, developing preventative maintenance activities and intervals.

  • Support Design for Assembly/Manufacturing analysis.

  • Risk Analysis Activities

  • Product Validation Activities

  • Continuous improvement Activities

  • Project leader for manufacturing initiatives.

  • Actively participate in the new product development process, including GIP.

Who You Are - Qualifications

Education :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is highly preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Years and Type of Experience :

  • 3-5 years’ experience in medical device manufacturing environment preferred. Regulated environment experience is required.

  • 3-5 years project management experience.

  • 3-5 years product realization experience.

  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Lean manufacturing and advanced statistical analysis.

  • CAD / Drafting Experience. Solidworks

  • Computer literacy, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office.

  • Understanding of Bill of Material (BOM).

  • Capable of creating drawings, manuals, and engineering specifications.

  • Self-starter with enthusiasm and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with ISO standards, GMP, and OSHA regulations.

  • New Process Development

  • PFMEA Development Leader

  • Process DOE development and execution

  • Process Validations.

  • May be required to operate company owned or leased vehicles and trucks.

  • Must have safe driving record, valid driver license, and be able to pass DMV background check.

  • Ability to safely operate company owned or leased vehicles on public and private roads.

  • Metals Processing:

  • Thin film stamping

  • Precision part machining, CNC, Lathe, Wire EDM, Swiss Screw, etc.

  • Automated Equipment

  • Electro-Mechanical troubleshooting and improvement of systems in production

  • Pneumatic, Servo, PLC

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, speak, use hands, reach with hands and arms, see listen and type. May need to lift up to 25 pounds.

Environmental Requirements

Work primarily performed in combined office and manufacturing floor environment. The noise level is usually moderate in a climate-controlled environment. May require travel using different forms of transportation.
