Opportunity as Project Manager at SAP

The Project Manager is the entry steppingstone position on the project management career path in SAP and is responsible for performing all functions in the Project Management areas, being capable to manage medium to large projects and/or manage project workstreams in a larger project, also supporting experienced project/program managers in the PMO (Project Management Office) roles.

Responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire lifecycle (Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy and Run). Must be familiar with SAP system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the whole team under his responsibility

Main Roles

  • Understand the SAP delivery models defined in SAP Activate, ensuring proper use of methodology, tools, and procedures on your daily basis. Maintain the Governance Model with PMO over the entire lifecycle of the project.

  • Own the project engagement and be responsible for delivery of its major elements including project business objectives, scope and solution within quality criteria, on time and budget

  • Review project plans and scope with the team to ensure that all team members understand the assigned tasks and associated deliverable dates.

  • Translate generalized customer business goals and objectives into concrete strategy and tactical delivery plans for the project engagement.

  • Experienced on contract concepts and deliver primed Fixed Price Project (FPP) and Time and Material (T&M) engagements.

  • Active risk management, implement and maintain an ongoing risk and quality management framework,

  • Build proactive formal and informal communication/relationship with key stakeholders (internal/external)

  • Evaluate medium to complex situations accurately and identify viable solutions that create successful outcome for the customer.

  • Escalate early issues about the projects / program to account management and SAP Services Leadership. In the same way, drive de-escalation management on behalf of the project with SAP and customer, managing project sponsor satisfaction to position and secure customer reference and success story.

  • Maximize use of near-and offshore delivery by SAP and its partners to achieve cost advantages for the client and SAP. English communication is mandatory.

Work Experience

  • Morethan10years managing SAP Projects as a project manager.

  • Experienced with all components/areas of project management, including basic KPIs from PMI.

  • Experienced leading cross functional teams within a formalized methodology (e.g PMI).

  • Experienced in managing issues, scope and quality while bring projects to successful

completion within the cost and time requirements

Functional and Education Experience

  • English: Advanced.

  • Required Bachelors university degree.

  • AGILEMethodology.

  • PMP certification is mandatory.

As a Plus, not mandatory: MBA or Equivalent; Experience from cloud package software implementation; Knowledge of SAP delivery methodology SAP Activate; certified or not; Spanish Language;SCRUM certifications.

Managerial Experience

  • Project coordination or administrative project management specialist functions.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing internal and external client expectations on program requirements and deliverables

  • Strong writing, decision making, communication, and meeting facilitation skills; ability to utilize a combination of formal authority and persuasion skill sets.

  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.

  • Good level of leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear concise and tactful communication with senior executive management, clients, peers and team members.

  • Multicultural sensitivity and work in international environment with global clients
