Market Context

The Caribbean and Central America (CCA) is one of Diageo’s most diverse and profitable markets. It is the number 1 market in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) in terms of profitability, both in absolute and margin terms, and close to number 2 in terms of NSV. Globally, we are the second most profitable market for Diageo, after North America.

Our route to market is achieved through a combination of 12 major Free Trade Zone & Border customers, and approximately 30 key Distributor Partners. We also manage several co-packing partnerships throughout the region, and Panama is home to our innovation technology centre and principal warehousing operations.

The 37 countries that comprise CCA boast a cumulative population of 77 million people who speak a range of languages including English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Creole, Patois and numerous other native languages. There is a significant and growing emerging middle class (EMC) population across what are relatively young, but broadly stabilizing, democracies.

Purpose of Role

To achieve our Ecommerce transformational ambition by becoming a best in class in the digital consumer journey, ensuring an outstanding brand and shopping experience and transforming the category and the future of commercialization. The role should develop the next gen of digital shopping in an agile and consistent way through all channels and customers. The E-comm Executive is responsible for establish and maintain the communication with Distributors and key customers, execute the commercial plans and measure the results for the E-comm world, ensuring that Diageo is ahead of the competitive set, as well as increasing the coverage of our Spirits portfolio to improve its commercialization.

About the role

The E-Commerce Executive execute the channel plan for Groceries & Last Milers, supporting the execution of all activities, ensuring Brilliant Execution to deliver our key targets: Quality Market Share, NSV, Strengthen Commercial Execution in customers, Trade Investment Management, ROAS, Control & Compliance.

This role will directly partner with several key internal and external partners, to build targeted growth plans, activate our brands digitally and assess the data to measure results and contribute to a broader channel and category insights.

This role is responsible for the development of E-commerce transactional activations for Diageo brands. This role will focus on the online trade strategies inside digital platforms and must ensure brilliant execution for all our brands in the top clients.

The E-commerce executive will be responsible for market share, new buyers’ recruitment, execution score and sell out among different platforms and clients, and also should work close to Brand Managers and E-Commerce Manager in order to develop the digital capabilities of the team and deliver an outstanding digital execution.

The Ecommerce Executive supports the Ecommerce Manager on the execution of the activation calendar and commercial plan, ensuring its completion within the Cycle Planning and Briefing process and supports evaluation/learning back into the wider business.

The Ecommerce Executive supports the Ecommerce Manager in delivering Field Sales, Account Management and give to Distributors Teams the digital tools and supportive materials to drive brilliant execution within the channel/customers. Also, this role must set the channel specifics brands and categories execution guidelines and standards. The role also tracks and evaluates channel online execution in trade against well-defined scorecard metrics, ensuring we deliver with OTIF to our customers.

Accountabilities

Lead the development of the category to build a “best-in-class” content execution and shopping experience in eCommerce.

Developing and executing innovative product / category content according to the different online shopping missions.

Co-creating with top performer digital platforms a new shopping experience for Spirits.

Building for multi category partnerships, bringing differentiating experiences for the shopper.

According to brand´s strategy and guidelines, the E-commerce executive, will lead the execution of brand plans or category platforms on digital platforms including planning, follow up and measurement, always looking for transactional results.

Coordinate with the agencies (performance media, creative & trade) the Ecommerce campaigns and ensure on time and full execution & request performance reports to understand and suggest improvements in future activities.

Define tactical activities and follow up on commercial calendar within all platforms focusing on own partner’s media.

Plan, execute and measure results for online trade marketing calendar, working together with agencies and platforms.

Manage investment budget on digital platforms looking forward to meeting Sell Out, NSV and market share goals.

Lead TheBar.com execution (Own D2C) and follow up with eComm agency and operative partner.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor’s Degree required in Business or related field.

E-commerce experience with transactional responsibilities or online trade marketing development.

Minimum 3 years of experience in sales and /or ecommerce / customer marketing /trade marketing areas with specific experience of distributor-based businesses, CPG o or retail.

Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively internally and externally with good influential and negotiation skills.

Ability to work around and within a variety of different market conditions and demographic factors.

Strong analytical, presentation and project management skills.

Proactive, self-motivated, curious, creative, tenacious with commercial drive and digital curiosity.

Must have effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Capable of taking initiative, ownership, and accountability for the business.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

Spanish and English knowledge.

Proven experience in eCommerce retail is preferred.

Vtex experience is preferred.
