UCLA Health Parking Assistant - Santa Monica Hospital in Santa Monica, California

Under the supervision of the Valet Parking Supervisor, you will valet park vehicles for Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center patients, visitors and faculty and stack park staff vehicles. Your responsibilities include:

  • Maintain excellent customer service standards as outlined by department policies and procedures.

  • Issue ticket receipts after inspecting and documenting any prior vehicle damage.

  • Retrieve vehicles in a timely manner.

  • Collect and secure cash and issue receipts.

  • Write down the license plate, make of car & exact location of where car is parked on valet ticket.

  • Park vehicle in underground lot across the street.

  • Tag keys and store in key box.

Salary Range: $21.07 - $25.16 / Hourly

Qualifications

  • Currently possess and maintain a valid California Drivers License.

  • Ability to see aspects of public relations in all facets of the job and the ability to understand the effects of actions on the entire organization.

  • Ability to recognize the importance of dealing diplomatically with the public, and the importance of a good public appearance.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with security employees, police officers, and Medical Center, NPI & H, and Medical Plaza employees.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess problematic or emergency situations and plan / execute an appropriate solution based on established guidelines or policies.

  • Ability to clearly and concisely express ideas using appropriate vocabulary and spelling.

  • Ability to relay information, either in writing or verbally, in a professional manner.

  • Ability to independently resolve issues working within set policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of applicable geography in order to expedite calls and to be an effective information source.

  • Ability to know and use available resources in order to solve problems.

  • Physically able to stand for long periods.

  • Ability to operate security related equipment and general office equipment.

Senate

Bill 525 was signed into law by Governor Newsom in October 2023. Starting

June 1, 2024, SB525 sets a new $23

minimum wage for nonexempt healthcare

workers and raises the exempt employee salary threshold to $1,380/week

(equivalent to $5,980/month or

$71,760/year).

healthcare workers are defined as employees who are involved in the provision

of 'health care

services,' which means 'patient

care-related services including nursing; caregiving; services provided by

medical residents,

interns, or fellows; technical and

ancillary services; janitorial work; housekeeping; grounds keeping; guard

duties; business

office clerical work; food

services; laundry; medical coding and billing; call center and warehouse work;

scheduling; and gift

shop work; but only where such

services support patient care'.

student, per diem) in the UCLA Health medical facilities (e.g. Ronald Reagan

Medical Center,

Santa Monica UCLA Hospital, Resnick

Neuropsychiatric Hospital, etc.) meet these criteria.
