UCLA Health Administrative Nurse I - Arizona Pain Management Clinic - Santa Monica in Santa Monica, California

The Administrative Nurse I is responsible for assisting with the unit's clinical management and administrative coordination. The position combines clinical (direct care) and administrative responsibilities. Under the direction of the Unit Director, the Administrative Nurse I, is responsible for the consistent implementation and monitoring of organizational policies and standards within the unit. The AN I is responsible for knowledge and application of all personnel policies and requirements of the collective bargaining agreements. The AN I will assist the AN IV, AN III and AN II in promoting the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the unit. The AN I will participate in the peer evaluation process and will participate in the interview and hire process for the unit staff when requested. The AN I is responsible for monitoring specialty area operations to identify and report problems associated with staff performance, resource issues, and patient care issues to the AN II/ AN IV. The AN I is responsible for decision-making within the established annual unit budget and for making recommendations and decisions which promote the cost effective allocation of resources. The AN I will present new treatment modalities and/or information to the nursing staff as directed and will collaborate with ANII and the Unit Director, to identify educational needs and learning situations for nursing staff; complete performance evaluations on orienting nursing team members and nursing staff; assist with the interviewing of prospective team members; identify own professional development needs and seek appropriate resources to meet them.

Hourly Salary Range: $67.06 - $97.43Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled, self-starter with: * Current California RN license required. * BSN with 2 years of recent acute care experience required * BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required. * 2 years of experience as an PTU/PACU/OR registered nurse preferred * Exhibits behaviors, actions, and language reflect conscious commitment to supporting unit, department, and hospital vision * Projects a calm, reassuring and confident manner and promotes a cohesive team environment * Consistently achieves high standards in clinical duties and holds self to same standards as others are held to * Makes decisions in the best interest of the patient * Effectively listens and communicates to peers both positive and constructive feedback * Able to admit fault and acknowledge others' position without becoming defensive * Consistently uses good judgment in making decisions * Consistently identifies opportunities to improve unit performance and takes action to implement ideas * Develops rapport with patients and patients families * Able to recognize and or bring attention to peers' accomplishments * Maintains positive attitude towards unit and work, helping to build unit's positive reputation * Consistently models right behaviors * Skills in coaching and assisting staff developing a plan of care including setting goals, monitoring and documenting progress. Implementing interventions that are pertinent to goals established in the plan of care. Evaluating the effective of interventions toward the attainment of established goals and recognizing the need to reassess or reset goal parameter.
