UCLA Health Admin Clinical Care Partner/ Video Monitor - Central Monitoring Unit - SMMC and RRMC Available in Santa Monica, California
Description
Trained video tech who is able to centrally remotely monitors a maximum of 15 patients. Notifies assigned care providers (RN's or ACCP's) of patients' activity that may jeopardize patient safety, such as falls or injury from removing equipment. Monitors patients for risky behaviors, which may include but are not limited to:
Trying to get up out of bed without assistance
Increased restlessness
Period of sudden outbursts of behavior
Attempting to reach or pull-out tubes or drains
Other potentially unsafe behaviors
Verbally redirects from risky behaviors through a microphone by
Getting the patient's attention using their name
Encouraging them to stay in bed/chair
Records hourly summary on the following elements on Video Monitoring Patient Logging Tool
Patient activities and behaviors
VMT actions
Frequency of the above
Salary $25.30 - $33.35 Hourly
Qualifications
We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:
CNA Certification required.
BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
Ability to pass an 8 hour computer data entry training course.
Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations preferred.
Recent ward clerk and/or appropriate clerical experience in acute hospitals.
Skill in evaluating and reporting various kinds of emergent information pertinent to the functioning of an inpatient care unit.
Skill in prioritizing responsiveness in urgent attention to patient safety.
Able to communicate clearly in giving directions to the patient
