This position manages a large team of both experienced professionals and team leaders in Manufacturing Engineering. Leads projects and resolves production problems, develops operating budgets, monitors industry trends, and recommends investments to improve the organization's production capabilities. Plans, designs and executes activities that are directly related to the physical creation of RTX products and the functional operation of RTX facilities. Contains professional and para-professional disciplines.

This position will sit at our Santa Isabel, PR location, candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Primary responsibility:

  • Communicates our site core capabilities to expand our portfolio within the Electro-mechanical and Electronics product families.

  • Provide support and leadership to new product introduction or transitions while promoting collaboration with other Functions (Operations, Materials, Quality, Facilities, Engineering, etc) to ensure project milestones are met.

  • Maintain and promote high communication level between Puerto Rico Operations facilities and the multiple Business Units Value Stream Leadership.

  • Participates and aligns potential business opportunities with site strategic plans.

  • Supports complex Business case generation and ensure compliance to budget and funding strategies related to human resources and capital investments.

  • Reviews all project Business Case presentations.

  • Participates in all Puerto Rico Operations NPI Gate Reviews.

  • Manages Cold Start Initiative (CSI) & Out of Production Spares (OOPS) requests.

  • Drive engagement with the Global OPS Selling Entity.

  • Works with all RTX Business Units to ensure charge accounts are available for NPI, CSI & OOPS tasks.

  • Supports Finance in providing data for incentives related to R&D.

  • Coordinates with other site Functional Teams to estimate required footprint and investment as part of the site growth plan.

  • Drives execution of the Project Plan and Quality Plan to meet the Customer requirements until CMS Gate 5 Approval / Work Transition Gate 4 Approval.

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering, preferred

  • Experience leading root cause analysis events driving to effective corrective actions.

  • Experience in Talent Development and Succession Planning.

  • Experience with cell design, test integration, and validation techniques within the Aerospace Industry.

  • Experience in project management

  • PMP certification, preferred.

  • Knowledge in SAP

  • Knowledge in finance and understanding to support resource justification and to support complex Business Case models.
