Your Career

Come join Palo Alto Networks as a Staff SOC Automation Engineer on the Information Security team. As a member of the Security Operations Center group within InfoSec, you’ll push the limits of what’s possible in the SOAR space (Security, Orchestration, Automation and Response).

At Palo Alto Networks, we “sip our own champagne” by protecting our global organization with the innovative security products that we build and sell to our customers. We are looking for an individual to perform in a key role in our internal SOC; Design, test and build inspiring automation playbooks in our own XSOAR product that are deployed internally to demonstrate what it means to truly disrupt the traditional manual SOC model.

With your passion for automation, coupled with your desire to hunt for and stop cyber bad actors, you will join a team of highly motivated SOC Engineers at the fastest growing security company in history.

Your Impact

  • Responsible for analyzing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining and documenting new SOAR (security orchestration and automation response) playbooks to extend the existing automation capabilities of the Security Operations Center

  • Develop creative new approaches to accelerate threat detection, responses and remediation of security incidents in a global organization

  • Coordinate playbook deployments with multi-functional team members to maintain high quality work products

  • Manage & maintain cloud infrastructure & tooling operated by the automation team

  • Collaborate with and provide feedback to the engineers and product managers of XSOAR as you operationalize the innovative security automation tool into Palo Alto Networks’ security operations

Your Experience

  • 3+ years hands-on experience developing automation playbooks in XSOAR, Phantom, Swimlane or other leading SOAR solution

  • Python scripting proficiency

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Customer-focused, have a drive for results, and passionate about building great products that will have impact across the organization

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent training, education, and experience in information / cyber security, computer systems, IT, etc.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $119,000/yr to $192,500/yr.
