Robotics & Digital Surgery, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Senior Software Test Automation Engineer, located Santa Clara, CA (not remote; fully onsite 5 days a week).

As the Senior Software Test Automation Engineer in Robotics & Digital, you will play a critical role in developing and performing software testing for our groundbreaking robotic surgical platform. In this role, you will design and develop test cases and protocols to verify software functionality, using numerous testing methods including functional, integration, and system testing. Has experience in Python and developing Automation test infrastructure, writing scripts to automate existing process for testing the robotic systems for medical applications. This individual is authority in the field of Tool Validation and Test Automation and should be able to mentor junior members of the team. We are looking for a candidate who can work with minimum mentorship and function well within a team, and is flexible, self-motivated, curious, and passionate about revolutionizing the world of medical robotics.
Key Responsibilities:
Work independently to create, maintain, and execute automation and manual test plans for verification
Strategically and tactically lead the test team for test tool validation, test automation and software.
Analyze architecture and designs to identify test automation strategies to provide full test coverage for new and/or existing features. Identify and articulate gaps in architecture or design
Proficiency with DevOps tools and practices and consistent track record to align quality engineering strategy with automation efforts.
Work with software, robotics, and system engineers as part of a focused cross-functional team developing and testing software for medical robotic applications
Hands-on experience designing and implementing automation for robotic systems/ robotic framework
Qualifications
Required Skills:
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
6 years software test automation experience is preferred with an equivalent degree
Strong experience in designing and developing automation test cases using different automation frameworks. e.g. Squish
Proficiency in pipeline automation/Source Code Repositories like Bitbucket, GitHub and Jenkins
Experience with OOP scripting languages such as Python, C/C , Bash and Linux commands
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization, time management and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience testing complex medical devices/software
Experience with dev-ops (build and release)
Experience developing and/or using automated test frameworks
Experience with Real-time embedded SW/FW test automation
Travel: Up to 10%, but likely less to none

The anticipated base salary pay is between $119,000 and $191,000.
