We are the Prime Video Live Sports team. We revolutionize the way our customers search, discover and enjoy live streaming from sports, to music, to breaking news and political debates.

In September 2018 we launched our first full-scale live streaming experience to all of our world-wide Prime customers with NFL’s Thursday Night Football. In just a year, we delivered multi-game watching experience to our Prime Video customers in UK for the English Premier League .

That was just the start. We are growing and looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager for our team to build innovative solutions for customers to discover engaging and personalized live content to enjoy.

This is a transformative opportunity, the chance to be at the vanguard of a program that will revolutionize Prime Video, and the live streaming experience for customers everywhere.

In this role you will work across our distributed engineering teams in building a wide variety of services. Building a flexible Live Event publishing platform that integrates with the broader Prime Video ecosystem to low-latency and high-TPS services that impact the discovery experience on wide variety of devices. Key job responsibilities

• Provide a world-class customer experience for your deliverables: continually raise the bar on functionality, flow, consistency, usability, and simplicity.

• Be the interface between the product owners and the development team, thoroughly understanding the product, helping define user stories, and driving the evaluation of appropriate technical solutions to meet business requirements.

• Create effective project management strategies to meet deliverables and organize teams, and provide regular updates to critical program reviews and other reporting mechanisms.

• Own engagement and build mechanisms to collaborate effectively with the partners across Prime Video, Amazon.com, and other critical partners.

• Work to decompose requirements into technical execution plans with multiple development teams, track progress towards goals, and report status to product, business development, and technical leadership.

• Help make the right feature trade-offs to ship software without compromising customer experience and business relevance.

• Engage with many other teams in the company, evangelizing the team and your project, building relationships and helping identify existing components and technologies that can be leveraged to deliver on our goals.

• Anticipate bottlenecks, own and manage multiple projects that span a variety of functional areas.

• Regular communication with senior, director, and VP level management on project status and risks, broad cross-team coordination on project execution.

About the team

This team is responsible for live event streaming on Prime Video. You will collaborate with Prime Video teams including Catalog, X-Ray, Prime Video Channels, Store Front Automation, and devices teams worldwide. You will own and drive features while working with Software Development Managers in our Seattle, WA, Austin, TX and Arlington, VA teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

  • Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering

  • Fully capable of making assessments of problem areas and finding effective solutions.

  • Strong organizational, work planning, prioritization analytical/quantitative and data analysis skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate with both technical and business stakeholders

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
