Boehringer Ingelheim Analytics Data Engineer in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Spain

This position offers more than a job; it's an opportunity to bolster our digital initiatives with your specialized knowledge in Data Engineering. As a key player, you'll lead the charge in meeting our dynamic business needs and play a pivotal role in equipping digital use cases with the necessary data and insights.

Responsibilities:

  • You will support medium to large data engineering projects/products within Data Products and Portfolio team.

  • You will develop ETL pipelines, integration solutions and data modeling strategies to optimize performance and efficiency.

  • You will define and govern data engineering standard for digital use cases running in the team.

  • You will identify and implement optimal solutions for data originating from different sources, delivering significant value to our business units.

  • You will forge and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders in IT and business, ensuring the maintenance of strong, collaborative relationships.

  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing processes to ensure the systematic collection, integration, distribution and quality control of data through automated routines.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in IT, alternatively bachelor’s degree with long-term relevant working experience.

  • Experience in Agile methodology with a proven track record working in cross-functional projects.

  • Programming expertise to work with traditional data warehouses AWS tech stack (S3, EC2, Glue, Lambda, RDS, Athena, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, Redshift, EventBridge etc.).

  • Experience of building and managing data lakes, ETL processes and data modeling.

  • Advanced SQL skills for complex data operations and familiarity with NoSQL data storage solutions.

  • Experience with DataOps framework and infrastructure as code.

  • Experience with Data Streaming, GenAI and other cutting-edge technologies in the field of Data Analytics.

  • Proactive with ability to confidently navigate difficult situations, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.

  • Ability to create technical documentation and proficient in unit and integration testing.

  • Working experience on BI Dataland platform is a bonus.

  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Additional language skill (German, Spanish) is a bonus.
