Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist Blood Sciences

We are currently seeking to recruit a Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist to join our team in our Blood Sciences Department at the Eurofins Biomnis in Sandyford, Dublin 18. An ambitious Medical Scientist for the Night Shift (10pm-6am), looking to grow their blood science career with us. Training and development support will be given to you to help your progression within the organisation.

Working Hours: 10pm - 6am

35 hours p/w

Reporting to the Chief Medical Scientist and/or Laboratory Services Manager in our AutoLab (Blood Sciences),  the Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist will have responsibility for performing automated Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay analysis together with blood parasitology; Manual differential analysis and sample preparation; Clinical Chemistry and Haematology analysis. Evaluation and authorisation of results. Carrying out clerical and technical tasks in accordance with sample handling procedures, maintaining policies and procedures, review and update as required. While working with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department. Participate in the development and maintenance of the ISO 15189 quality management system which is patient centered and ensures quality focused results are provided for patient care and to assist in the Total Quality Improvement of the department.       

Education:

• Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Science

Required licences / certifications or membership:

• CORU registered as Medical Scientist

• HCPC registered as Biomedical Scientist

Experience:

• Relevant experience in a multidisciplinary medical laboratory

Knowledge:

• Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Skills and Abilities:

• A diligent, strong work ethic with the ability to work on your own initiative to ensure an outstanding laboratory service.

• Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

• A proven team player who will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team of dedicated professionals.
