Job Description:

We are now gathering applications for All Secondary Teachers that are interested in applying for openings for the 2024-25 school year!

Applications and screening interviews must be completed in order to be considered when schools begin interviewing in March 2024.

Preferred Skills:

Candidates must have a Secondary teaching license with an endorsement for the subject qualified to teach (ex: English, Math, Biology, Physical Education, Dance, etc).

  • Expired licenses, out of state licenses, or University students that will graduate in May or August 2024 are also eligible to apply.

  • Candidates interested in an internship should email csdemployement@canyonsdistrict.org before applying.

  • Interns are candidates that are earning a bachelor's degree in Secondary Ed, have not earned a degree previously in another subject, and are wanting to have a paid teaching position in lieu of completing student teaching.

Don't have a professional teaching license? Follow one of these steps before applying:

  • To earn your license through the CSD Alternative Pathway to Professional Educator Licensing (APPEL) program (https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/depts/hr/appel/) , you will first apply for an Associate Educator License (AEL). Follow this link (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CrAT4LtTVGoYMhf33KER6ebdWJxPlVvfcLlQPHu4MXQ/edit) for information on how to apply for an AEL through the Utah State Board of Education (USBE).

  • Proof of an AEL or proof you submitted all the documentation correctly to USBE is required before you will be added to the candidate pool.

  • Must also have the proper endorsements for what you are applying (example: English teachers will not be considered for anything other then English jobs).

  • If you would prefer to earn your license from a University, you will enroll in a teacher certification program for Secondary Ed at a local university. Once you have been accepted, you will then apply for your Associate Educator License (AEL) and take the correct content Praxis test (if you do not hold a degree in the subject area you wish to teach).   • Proof of your AEL and Enrollment Letter will be required when you apply for the Secondary Candidate Pool.
