Erie County, Ohio FT Investigator in SANDUSKY, Ohio

MINIMUM REOUIREMENTS

Responsible for representing the Prosecutor's Office in conducting follow-up investigations and assisting in the initial investigation of felony crimes when needed and performs other related duties as required. Coordinate information and consult with law enforcement agencies, Court personnel and others. Experience in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice including but not limited to training as a Peace Officer preferred. Erie County resident preferred.

Pre-employment testing required.

Description of the Job:

  • Responsible for representing the Prosecutor's Office in conducting follow-up investigations and assisting in the initial investigation of felony crimes when needed and performs other related duties as required.
  • Coordinate information and consult with law enforcement agencies, Court personnel and others.
  • Review information with Prosecutors assigned to cases in the preparation for, and presentation of, court cases and assists in the presentation of physical evidence, photographs, etc.

Description of the Job (Con 't):

  • Interview suspects, victims of crimes, potential witnesses and other persons to ascertain facts.
  • Conduct criminal background checks on defendants/witnesses.
  • process and maintain chain of custody.
  • Witness logistics and interviewing.
  • Process CD's/DVDs from police agencies.
  • Coordinate sale of forfeited vehicles at County Vehicle Maintenance Garage.
  • Qualify for BCI website access.
  • FBI/BCI fingerprint/background check will be conducted Ability to be LEADS/OHLEG certified.
  • Conduct background checks on potential jurors.
  • Coordinate discovery from non-county agencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice including but not limited to training as a Peace Officer
  • Erie County Residents
