Voss Manufacturing Machine Design Engineer in Sanborn, New York

General Job Description: Uses CAD equipment to provide support to Manufacturing by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches & diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture. Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database. Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete mathematical calculations. Responsibilities:•Uses computer assisted design/drafting (SolidWorks CAD) equipment and software to develop designs.•Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).•Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.•Performs tolerance stacks and determines appropriate manufacturing tolerance•Sketches rough layout of machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes.•Provide project management as assigned.•Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.•Drafts detailed multiview drawings of machine and products.•Draws finished designs from sketches.•Update drafting and Engineering Standards.•Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for Production Drawings.•Ability to interpret technical data such as specifications, engineering drawings and calculations in order to complete engineering tasks to meet a customers projects scope.•Provide resources necessary by other departments to help achieve their goals. •Communicate with QA, Sales and Manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.•Organize and or participate in meetings with vendors, customers, employees; such as design reviews, progress reviews, etc. •Performs miscellaneous duties and participates in training as assigned by a supervisor.•Follows all company policies, procedures and work rules.•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other stakeholders.•Utilize office equipment and computers and be self sufficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and other software essential to their job function.

Minimum Salary: 80,000 Maximum Salary: 100,000 Salary Unit: Yearly
