Description
We are seeking a Tax Manager - Public to join our team located in Marin County, California. The Tax Manager will play a critical role in managing and facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our company’s state and federal tax forms. The role will also involve recommending effective tax strategies that align with the company's business needs and comply with laws, promoting our company’s financial well-being.
Responsibilities:
• Create and utilize financial and logistical reports to prepare and file federal, state, and local tax documents accurately.
• Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company's business goals.
• Conduct research to develop tax-saving strategies and identify tax savings in prospective and recurring business deals.
• Maintain and update the company's tax database regularly.
• Assess and research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, tax regulations and relevant case law.
• Prepare for audits and collaborate with auditors to reach an agreement on contested issues or deficiencies.
• Consult with executives regarding the tax implications of various corporate strategies.
• Ensure all legal requirements are met in assessing the tax impact on company’s financial planning.
• Perform audits and negotiate tax resolutions with taxing authorities.
• Use accounting software systems, ADP - Financial Services, CaseWare, CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, and other accounting functions to perform annual income tax provision and auditing.
Requirements
• Candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a necessity for this role.
• High level of technical proficiency is required.
• Demonstrable knowledge of CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax is expected.
• The applicant must be adept at handling Accounting Functions.
• Experience in preparing Annual Income Tax Provision is required.
• Skills in Auditing are necessary for this role.
• The candidate must be well-versed in Compliance procedures.
• Experience in Entity Formation is a major plus.
