Payroll Associate

SUMMARY: The Payroll Associate will be responsible for aiding the PR Manager, Field Operations, and HR in processing weekly payroll and Maintaining company compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Updating and Maintaining employee records and information based on requested and approved internal and external documentation. Processing incoming requests from third parties that relate to payroll, VOEs, UI Claims etc. Assisting in the preparation, processing and distribution of weekly payroll. Verifying accuracy of weekly payroll data and handle report preparation for HR, PR Manager and Field operations as needed. Assisting the PR Manager in system maintenance to maintain accurate union pay rates and fringe benefits annually. Submitting weekly certified payroll reports for all jobs requiring certified payroll records. Updating certified payroll matrix and job abstracts to upkeep current job activity for weekly reporting. Maintaining knowledge of prevailing wage and fringe benefit packages based on job classification and territory to ensure compliance is maintained. Maintaining and developing certified payroll exports for the various CPR reporting systems. Configuring company profiles based on project requirements with various CPR reporting interfaces such as LCP Tracker, Elations, DIR etc. Establishing communication with project field staff to address compliance requirements or errors. Maintaining and distributing the union rate sheet for internal reference.

  • Computer Skills: to perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge and experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office software including Outlook and Word. Experience working with database systems like Vista Viewpoint experience preferred, but not required.
  • Self-Management: manages own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals; completes high volumes of work without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Ethics: earns others trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Teamwork: promotes cooperation and commitment within the accounting team to and also with other departments in the company to achieve goals and deliverables.

  • Education/Experience: Accounting or Finance Degree preferred but not required; or graduation from business college and at least threeyears related experience in Payroll; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Ability: ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from manager, clients, customers, and internal team. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Reasoning Ability: ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: to perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge and experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office softw re including Outlook and Word. Vista Viewpoint experience preferred, but not required.
  • Physical Presence: Regular and predictable physical presence in the corporate office is an essential qualification for this position due to the importance of the aggressive timeframes under which the employee will operate, and the need for face-to-face interaction with the Accounting team to properly perform job-related functions.
