BeiGene Director, Solid Tumor Corporate Accounts in San Mateo, California

General Description:

The Director of Solid Tumor Corporate Accounts will lead and coach Solid Tumor Corporate Account Directors and be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the team. This person will be accountable for developing, communicating, and implementing strategic business plans for the Solid Tumor CAD team and expand corporate relationships with key oncology stakeholders. These stakeholders will consist of C-suite level (CEO’s, CFO’s, COO’s) medical directors, practice administrators, pharmacists, and other decision makers in assigned accounts. Stakeholder organizations include but not limited to Integrated Delivery Networks, Health Systems, and Dedicated Cancer Center accounts, and Strategic Partners. This is accomplished through effective coaching, mentoring of the team, utilization of resources, and strong collaboration with other divisions or disciplines within BeiGene and external business partners. This position will report directly to the National Director of Corporate Accounts.

Essential Functions of the job:

Team leadership responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership and mentorship to the Solid Tumor Corporate Account Directors.

  • Partner with the National Director of Corporate Accounts to develop strategic and tactical plans for key accounts and strategic partners that are assigned to the team.

  • Work closely with the National Director of Corporate Accounts to create annual business plan and budget for this segment of the business and communicate it to the team to ensure alignment and execution.

  • Partner and collaborate with Solid Tumor Regional Director peers and National Account Directors to ensure alignment and consistent business and strategic objectives.

  • Lead the communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams including Medical, Field HEOR, Market Access Marketing and Sales Leadership to align business objectives & strategies and ensure coordinated efforts.

  • Set clear goals and performance expectations, foster a collaborative team environment, and provide guidance and constructive feedback to support professional growth and development.

  • Drive business results, culture and people initiatives aligned with the BeiGene mission.

  • Recruit, hire, and coach a Solid Tumor Corporate Account Director team.

  • Oversee strategic business plans that address overall corporate, regional, and brand initiatives with cross functional partners.

  • Implement corporate strategies and tactics by establishing value proposition, appropriate product adoption, utilization, and removal of access barriers.

  • Leverage and adhere to assigned operational budget, managing funds and resources towards corporate engagements and partnerships.

  • Responsible for compensation planning including salary, merit increases, promotions, etc.

  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners to implement corporate strategies with targeted accounts.

  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Pricing / Contracting and Trade / Distribution to ensure products strategies are aligned and patient access objectives are achieved.

  • Communicate with Solid Tumor Field Sales Leadership to facilitate optimal access and remove barriers to entry.

  • Lead and conduct Regional QBR’s of top targeted accounts with cross-functional team.

  • Work with National Accounts GPO team to manage successful implementation of contracts and agreements for assigned accounts.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities through market research, landscape analysis and customer interactions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12+ years of related pharmaceutical experience is necessary with at least 5+ years of frontline management experience.

  • Experience executing physician network or IDN/Health System contracting and account management.

  • Oncology therapeutic experience required; oral and IV oncology, solid tumor strongly preferred.

  • Biotech or pharmaceutical US marketplace launch experience required.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, effectively lead a team by objectively evaluating various opportunities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of field market access issues, challenges, and successes.

  • Record of successful leadership experience

  • Strong negotiating skills required.

Education Required:

Bachelor of Science, MBA preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Director of Solid Tumor Corporate Accounts will lead and coach a Solid Tumor Corporate Account Director (CAD) team. This position must demonstrate the following leadership competencies to be successful.

Other Qualifications:

Travel: Approximately 50% of time
