BeiGene Director, G&A, Financial Planning & Analysis in San Mateo, California
General Description:
The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will be primarily responsible for business partnering with our General and Administrative (G&A) based teams, including Global Technology Services (IT) for financial planning and business controlling including resource management (OpEx, headcount and capital expenditures) as well as driving process and resource optimization.
Reporting to the Senior Director, G&A Finance, this individual will lead innovative enhancements in G&A financial processes including focused efforts on the refinement and expansion of a charge-out process for G&A expenditures. Other enhancements will include the development of a CapEx tracking process for IT and Facilities projects and business decision support as we evaluate our global footprint for resources and facilities
The Director, FP&A will support planning and budgeting processes such as the annual budget cycle, quarterly reforecasts and long-range strategic planning efforts. Candidate will also play a key role in establishing clear transparency into the drivers of G&A resource allocations, supporting benchmarking analysis while looking for efficiencies and optimization of resources. The successful candidate should demonstrate biotech/pharmaceutical or other high-growth industry experience and have lead or supported optimizing G&A global structures and business processes along with ad-hoc projects to support scenario analysis/decision making (e.g. implementing resource allocation/charge-back models, master data management, total cost of ownership, trade-offs, prioritization and cost/benefit analysis as well as developing and implementing shared service center business case).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the role will coordinate global efforts across US, Europe, China and New Markets. The successful candidate will help drive improvements across the global G&A organization.

Essential Functions of the job:
Lead process and digital enhancements for the G&A charge-out process and serve as Finance business partner for IT and potentially other G&A functional areas.
Develop and implement annual budget targets ensuring realistic path/plan to deliver, quarterly re-forecasts and long-range planning process within the G&A organization partnering with Corp FP&A. Includes communicating planning timelines and guidance, coordinating forecasts, consolidating global submissions, and analyzing reasonableness with strategic goals and financial metrics.
Provide insightful business performance analytics, including asking multiple “why’s” to get to the root cause of an issue.
Analyze monthly financial results to identify spend drivers and drive efficiencies in resource management.
Proactively identify, design, and implement enhancements to existing processes and/or system improvements to expand reporting capabilities.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of key business drivers and deliver financial plans and analyses that lead to effective and insightful decision making.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
CPA or MBA preferred.
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS in Fiance or Accounting with 10+ years of relevant experience in financial planning role, preferably in pharma or biotech organization.

Strong planning, reporting and analytical skills with demonstrated business and systems impact in previous roles.
Technical Skills:
- Experience using financial systems, including skill with ERP (SAP or Oracle). and financial planning/reporting tools (e.g., TM1, Hyperion, Adaptive, etc.).
Travel:
- Minimal travel throughout the U.S. may be required.
