**Position Summary Route Supervisor provides supervision of a unit of Drivers to ensure service and safety compliance, coordinates Drivers work schedules, and performs as a substitute Driver. Route Supervisors are also cross-trained and may fulfill work in various jobs.

Work Schedule Shift is to be determined, either a.m. or p.m. as listed below. A.M. Shift: 5:30a.m. - 2:00p.m. P.M. Shift: 1:30p.m. - 10:00p.m.

  • Schedules have a half hour lunch break.
  • Work schedule is Monday thru Friday with approximately 4 Saturdays per year (for Safety meetings).
  • Work hours may occasionally fluctuate with work needs. More than 40 hours per week may be required, which will be at the over-time pay rate (position is non-exempt).

**Wage $20.00 - $22.97 per hour (after successful completion of a 90-day evaluation period the wage will be $22.97 per hour) Full-time employees (40 hours per week) receive medical, dental, and life insurance at no cost. Additional benefits offered, including retirement plan.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • State of Texas Commercial Driver License (Class B or A) with Passenger Endorsement
  • Airbrakes Endorsement preferred
  • Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
  • Must pass a drug test
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Good driving record
  • Public transit driving experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Communication skills (English), verbal and writing, with ability to fill out written reports.
  • Intermediate level computer skills in Word, Excel, email, and general use.
  • Ability to use local or regional geographic knowledge to locate addresses, and ability to read maps.
  • Social skills with ability to communicate and interact with Drivers, other employees, and the public, under various conditions.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to individuals with disabilities, recognizing their needs.
  • Ability to manage and be in control of a business operation.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations with composure.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve; this requires the ability to coordinate work and be creative with resources.
