Position Description
The Department of Information Systems and Analytics ( ISA ) in the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2025. The selected applicant will be expected to perform high-quality, business-related research in data analytics and/or data science, leading to peer reviewed scholarly publications in premier academic journals. Faculty are also expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in business analytics, statistics and/or quantitative methods, including online teaching and dissertation supervision in the Doctor of Business Administration ( DBA ) program at McCoy College. Additional job duties include service at the department, college, university, and professional levels. All positions are subject to the availability of funds. ABD candidates are expected to successfully defend their dissertation by the date of hire.

The ISA Department hosts a Master of Science in Data Analytics and Information Systems, BBA in Computer Information Systems, a university-wise minor in Analytics, as well as contributing to the Master of Business Administration and the proposed Doctor of Business Administration.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. or DBA from an internationally accredited institution within Decision Sciences, Management Science, Operations Research, Quantitative Methods, Statistics, Analytics or a related quantitative field.
The candidate should have a research agenda in one or more of the following: Applied Statistics, Probabilistic Machine Learning, and Methods of Artificial Intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following research areas: Stochastic Processes, Probabilistic Machine Learning, Bayesian methods, Deep Learning, Stochastic Optimization.
Experience in one or more of the following teaching areas: time series analysis, data mining, computational statistics.
Evidence of effective teaching at business college level.
Experience in teaching at business college graduate level.
Industry consulting experience in analytics.
Earned or anticipated Ph.D. degree from an AACSB accredited business school.
Evidence of effective teaching online/hybrid courses.
Track record/potential for publications in peer-reviewed high-quality journals.
Experience/potential in securing external funding.
