Casa de Amparo is always looking to grow our residents and therefore our team. While we don't always have open positions or shifts available, we are constantly reviewing applicants for the following shift possibilities on a full-time basis or part-time basis: Morning/AM Shift: 6:00am-4:00pm Evening/PM Shift: 2:00pm to 12:00am/midnight Overnight/ON Shift: 9:00pm to 7:00am the following day Part-Time is 2 days/week 10 hours/shift Must be willing to work on the weekends, unless otherwise agreed upon by hiring managers Base rate is $22.50/hours plus $0.50/hour differential
Description of Casa de Amparo Residential Services Program
Casa de Amparo is a leader in treating and preventing child abuse and neglect in San Diego County and all over the state of California. Our Residential Services Program services youth ages 12-18 years old (including non-minor dependents and their children), traumatized by child abuse or neglect. Each one of our youths receive comprehensive trauma-informed care tailored to their individual physical, social, emotional, developmental, and educational needs, while also ensuring they have healthy childhood experiences.
General Function
Being a Residential Counselor for the youth at Casa de Amparo is a challenging and rewarding career. You are essential to the care and rehabilitation of our youth. As a Residential Counselor, you provide safety, protection, physical care, and social and moral guidance as well as teach life skills and are a role model for our youth in our Residential Services Program. You also work together with Program Managers and Clinical Staff to ensure that the youth you care for are receiving the best treatment and childhood experience that is right for them. Primary Day-to-Day Duties: Care and Supervision of youth Safety of the youth Crisis management and de-escalation Transportation of youth Outing supervision Engaging in activities with the youth Basic reporting of incidents and basic checks

Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be in accordance with Casa de Amparo through Community Care Licensing (CCL), which includes clearance by FBI, DOJ, and CACI.
Must be able to meet one of the following three requirements:
One year of full-time experience working OR volunteering in a residential treatment program OR
Be in possession of a Bachelors Degree OR
Have at least 12 units (credits) in human development, child development, psychology, or related subject AND 100 hours of experience working with youth.
Must possess maturity, good judgement and the ability to be a positive role model for youth ages 0-18 years old.
Must be able to work as part of a team.
Must be able to work shifts up to 10 hours in length.
Must have ambulatory, auditory and visual skills to observe and physically intervene with residents when required.
Must be physically able to participate in activities and perform related physical skills, including, but not limited to, crouching, lifting 50 pounds, crawling on hands and knees, and walking up and down stairs.
Ability to comply with all employment requirements including, but not limited to:
CPR/ Pediatric First Aid
Physical, tuberculosis and drug screen clearance
Clear DMV record and approval from insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles
Must provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles.
English proficient (bilingual and bi-cultural preferred)
