PeopleReady Lead Commercial Overhead Door Installation Technician in San Leandro, California

PeopleReady Skilled Trades is looking for Lead commercial overhead door installation Technician, working lead over small crew. Min 3-4 years in commercial overhead door company. MIG/TIG exp a plus most would be electro-mechanical installation. Would drive company truck. MIG/TIG WELDING and MECHANICAL ability, aptitude. Position is for temporary to long term. We are looking for someone that has specialized skills in installing rolling, coiling doors, sectional doors, dock equipment, gates and automation. Custom Iron Work, including ornamental pieces and fixtures. Scopes of work may include Commercial door repairs, service work. You will lead and work with a crew to work on different projects. Ideally, you would have carpentery, mechanical, or door installation by trade with some general welding experience.

Note: The hourly rate for this position is $30 - $40 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:

  • MIG/TIG Welding and Metal Fabrication for Door Components in a shop environment

  • Diagnosing issues with and repairing and installing commercial garage doors, openers, and other garage door components.

  • Repairing, diagnosing, and installing Dock Equipment such as Edge of Docks, Dock Levelers, and Vehicle Restraints.

  • Repairing, diagnosing, and installing Access Control Gate Systems.

  • Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with all Frontier Door standards.

  • Performing physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and installing garage doors, garage door openers, moving and lifting other heavy objects and often climbing on a ladder while working.

  • Travel to job sites in service area, and work with management to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.

  • Willing to learn our system.

 Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in MIG/TIG WELDING and willing to learn the trade of commercial door fabrication and installation.

  • Verifiable references to confirm your professional skills and experience Strong work ethic

  • Good driving record and current valid driver's license 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heaver items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders, work from heights.

  • Experience with Commercial doors a plus!
