Amazon seeks a Risk Manager for its Finance Operations Risk Governance Experience (FORGE) team. FORGE provides controllership across Finance Operations through inspections (audits) of controls and processes. Finance Operations is a business service that is responsible for corporate procurement, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and global real estate & facilities.

In this role, you will scope, plan, and execute a broad range of audits of Finance Operations controls and processes to drive a continuous controllership culture. Inspection areas can range from monthly balance sheet reconciliations, procurement, accounts payable, and receivables. You will collaborate with stakeholders to develop action items that address findings, prepare formal inspection reports, and present findings to senior leadership. Your subject matter expertise is critical to develop a strong working knowledge of Finance Operations’ processes, current initiatives, and organizational changes impacting financial processes. This role requires strong leadership skills to influence others and/or self-serve in order to achieve critical inspection objectives. You will be expected to identify risks that impact Finance Operations and work with the appropriate owners to devise mitigation strategies. FORGE is looking for someone who can dive deep to understand Amazon’s disparate and complex processes and related applications, can work through ambiguity, and can deliver results. Additionally, you may also participate in adhoc assignments as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in Finance, Audit, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Technology or related function

Preferred Qualifications

  • Audit, consulting, advisory, or related client service experience

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA, CISSP)

  • Proven ability in understanding complex process flows and improving processes.

  • Proven ability to take ownership, self-motivate, and deliver results in highly ambiguous environments.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, problem solve, and make decisions in complex situations. Ability to think and innovate at scale.

  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.

  • Candidate should be good in written and verbal communication skills, including executive level presentations.
