Amazon Procurement Excellence Program Manager, TSI in San Jose, Costa Rica

At the Technology, Sourcing and Infrastructure (TSI) team, we're working to be the most efficient and high-performing procurement organization. To get there, we need exceptional people. TSI is seeking a Procurement Excellence Manager to join our AMER Procurement team. The Procurement Excellence Manager will be a strategic change agent within the TSI Procurement Team, dedicated to optimizing and innovating hardware procurement practices. You'll spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive roadmap that drives efficiency, cost savings, and overall value for hardware goods. This role bridges the gap between procurement expertise, project management, and a forward-thinking approach to technology. You'll leverage your knowledge to identify and implement best-in-class processes across the entire hardware source-to-pay (S2P) lifecycle, fostering collaboration with internal business units and key hardware suppliers.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a strategic roadmap for hardware procurement excellence.

• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in hardware procurement.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of procurement operations to pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Identify and implement process improvements across the hardware source-to-pay (S2P) lifecycle.

• Develop and implement process optimization strategies using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including internal business units and suppliers, to optimize hardware procurement practices.

• Champion the adoption of new technologies and automation solutions within the hardware procurement function.

• Manage and drive change management initiatives to ensure adoption of new processes and technologies.

• Oversee the development and monitoring of KPI metrics to track the impact of improvement initiatives.

• Leverage data and analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities and measure the success of procurement initiatives.

• Track and report on procurement performance metrics and KPIs related to hardware spend.

• Lead cross-functional teams to design, test, and roll out new procurement workflows and best practices.

• Partner closely with procurement teams to provide hands-on training and change management support.

• Identify and scale best practices from local/regional teams to the broader global organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

    • 3+ years of leading process improvement initiatives and change management efforts.
    • Knowledge in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • -Experience with leading communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management with cross functional teams.

    • Knowledge of SQL, Python and VBA at an advanced level.
    • Advanced proficiency in English language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business, industrial engineering, or a related discipline

  • Professional certifications (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, APICS, CPSM)

  • Prior experience as a consultant or in a center of excellence role

  • Knowledge of procurement-specific systems, tools, and best practices

  • Familiarity with process mining, robotic process automation, and other digital optimization technologies
