Location/Division Specific Information
This position reports to the Senior Manager in Product Management within the LSMS Business Unit, focusing on the nominal mass spectrometry platform. It involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams both within the LSMS BU and across other business units.
This position will be site based at our San Jose, CA office.
How will you make an impact?
As a Product Specialist , you will play an important role in supporting our Nominal Mass Spectrometer product line with product launches, provide input for new product development using a stage gate process, support promotional activities, develop strategic partnerships, perform hands on laboratory experiments both in the factory and field, and deliver technical presentations at customer events.
A successful candidate will be a highly motivated and diligent individual with a passion for science, mass spectrometry, and enhancing human health. This person should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills pertinent to the role and be capable of working both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of peers, R&D, commercial sales, and marketing. Ultimately, the candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic and exciting environment that is on the cutting edge of mass spectrometry technology.
A Day in the Life
Complete projects to meet product line revenue, growth, and profitability
Design and implement experiments that translate instrument performance capabilities into scientifically meaningful data and results to demonstrate product value
Assist in developing informative content for marketing campaigns, examples include but not limited to company hosted websites, videos, seminars, eLearning material etc.
Perform technical driven product comparisons, internal portfolio rationalization and overall market analysis and competitive analyses to assist sales force
Develop sales and customer service training tools and conduct training sessions, i.e., presentations, seminars and technical documentation
Implement Voice of the Customer (VOC) efforts to ensure that proposed product concepts meet the needs of the customer and provide value differentiation
Assist in managing KOL and critical customer collaborations for their continued evaluation and feedback on new technologies and market trends
Keys to Success
Education
- Minimum Master’s degree in analytical chemistry or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience is required or a Ph.D. degree with 2+ years of experience is preferred
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands-on experience with liquid chromatography mass spectrometry operation, troubleshooting, and applications method development experience
Demonstrate expertise in proteomics applications using LC-MS is a must with knowledge in targeted workflows is a plus
Hands-on practical knowledge of sample preparation of biological samples is required
Hands-on experience in Metabolomics and Lipidomics workflows is a plus
Knowledge of product management and marketing processes is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills required
Skill to pick up new technologies quickly and troubleshoot independently
Ability to develop credibility and network with proven and positive professional relationships
Ability to work within a highly matrixed organization with cross functional teams is essential
Up to 30% of domestic and international travel

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $100,000.00–$133,300.00.
