What You Will Do:

  • You will apply your systems engineering development experience to support the product development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of our advanced airborne Communications Intelligence (COMINT) and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) solutions.

  • You will contribute to and be an integral part of multi-discipline engineering project teams and be challenged by real-work assignments that include any combination of:

  • Technical research, concept demonstration, trade studies, requirements management, product design, technical documentation, and technical presentations.

  • Technical proposals and request for information (RFI) support including writing draft technical volumes and Basis of Estimates (BOEs).

  • System I&T plan and procedure development for both laboratory and field environments for demonstration and/or requirement sell-off.

  • System deployments (installation, integration/validation/verification), including travel to customer premises.

  • Support the program office (program manager and chief engineer) and/or assist with division and subsidiary level strategic direction/planning as required.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will learn COMINT/ELINT principles and concepts and work side-by-side with industry recognized technical leaders to develop and implement state of the art airborne ISR systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires minimum of 8 years of practical experience in Systems Engineering in product development and maintenance of airborne COMINT and ELINT sensors.

  • Experience in system development and maintenance of airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) sensors for the U.S. Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community

  • Ability to travel up to 30%-40% travel time to other AST sites and customer sites to support customers meetings and demonstrations, system deployments (installation, integration/validation/verification).

  • Experience producing system engineering contract deliverables such as system/subsystem descriptions, ICDs, hardware and software specifications, acceptance test plans, acceptance test procedures, and acceptance test reports.

  • Experience in all phases of the full product development life cycle (CONOPS, requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing, verification, deployment).

  • Experience with laboratory and field testing and troubleshooting of software-defined radios to the hardware, software and/or firmware unit levels.

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with the ability to effectively communicate with subordinates, peers, and leadership

  • US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for security clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI or higher clearance is required

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Current DoD TS or TS/SCI with Full-Scope Poly or current SSBI.

  • Experience leading technical staff and managing priorities on technical work within cost and schedule constraints.

  • Demonstrated experience with platform integration of airborne ISR sensors.

  • Experience in ELINT/COMINT Systems Engineering related to digital signal processing, waveform development, and software-defined radio architectures.

  • Experience developing BOEs in support of technical proposals.

  • Experience developing and presenting major technical review presentations/briefings (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.).

  • Experience with program configuration control boards (CCBs).

  • Practical experience with antennas, RF propagation and receivers, RF system calibration operations as these relate to subsystem-level analysis methodologies.

  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or similar scripting languages operating within the Linux development environment.

  • Familiarity with using version control and defect tracking tools (Git, JIRA, etc.).

  • Familiarity with control accounts (CAs) and earned-value management (EVM) within government contracts.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
