What is the job about?

The Senior Sales Engineer’s primary responsibility is to grow the business in the territory by connecting with Engineering firms in order to get Grundfos on specifications. The Sales Engineer will also connect with engineer at Water Utilities in order to educate them on our products. The role will also support the Grundfos business partner who have the front line This role directly reports to the Sales Manager of Water Utility and will operate fully from a home office, but the ideal candidate needs to reside in California and be able to travel throughout the sales territory.

Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidate must have the authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Participates with the Business Partner in a sales support role by making sales visits with the Business Partner and participating in local and regional trade shows as to facilitate and add value to the selling process.

  • Continually develops knowledge of the business climate, applications, and competition for defined accounts.

  • Develops, maintains, and implements a territory plan.

  • Continually assesses current Municipal/Water Utility distribution channels, develops, and evaluates their performance and manages conflict, while ensuring alignment with territory plans.

  • Provides training on Grundfos products, applications, and sales processes and will facilitate training to all levels of the sales channel.

  • Maintains data relative to partners, accounts, and activities and prepares reporting as needed.

Your background:

We imagine that you have:

  • Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline, or 5-7 years of experience in the municipal or pump industry.

  • Experience with dodge reports.

  • Experience with municipal sales process.

  • Professional sales kills including key account strategies and plans.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Municipal/Water Utility market and general knowledge of other Grundfos target markets.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of pumps and pumping systems used within the Municipal/Water Utility market.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective product presentations for all sizes of audiences for both internal and external customers.

The annual pay for this position starts at $120,000 plus a sales incentive plan. Actual pay will depend upon skill set, experience, and location.

Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in California.
